Rachel Barker - Rise & Wild - Yoga TeacherThe heart of Rachel’s work explores the wisdom of earthly living, connection, communication, conservation and a belief that we are meant to feel well in life.
Rachel trained as a nature and health facilitator, and after 10 years practicing yoga, studied yoga and mindfulness on an 18-month teacher training programme to deepen her understanding and experience the ways we can integrate age-old teachings into modern-day living. Rachel continues to study the practices she shares, through dedicated practice, attending her teachers’ classes, workshops, studying philosophy and noticing what happens in life and how we respond. In 2020, Rachel founded Rise and Wild Yoga Nature & Community as a way to bring together her work guiding outdoor, nature-based wellbeing programmes, mindfulness interventions, re-wilding and crafting workshops, wellness walks and yoga classes. |

Cathy Ballard - Certified Trauma-Informed Breathwork Facilitator, Empowerment Coach and Mindfulness GuideThrough many years of yoga, meditation, healing and transformational coaching Cathy has worked with mindful breathing but when she fully dived into breathwork, her life started to change hugely.
Challenges still came, but she responded to difficult situations differently. She felt more trusting of life, more grateful and appreciative, more herself and more peaceful and at ease, no matter what was happening in life around her. And as she positively changed on the inside, so her outer world began to reflect that too. But the most gratifying thing was how profoundly it was helping her clients. She had never seen something work so consistently well for so many different people with such different issues. And breathwork works whether you believe in it or not. It’s a natural, powerful way to clear the mind, release what no longer serves you, and ignite personal transformation. Breathwork is so simple and accessible, yet has the power to awaken something within each of us, a deeper connection to ourselves, a renewed sense of possibility, and a life lived with greater clarity and freedom. It’s not just a practice; it’s a path to becoming the most empowered, authentic version of yourself. |

Mia - Trans Positive Group VolunteerAs a transgender female, Mia has lived experience of navigating gender identity, relationships, family life, work, and the challenges that can arise when trying to balance authenticity with the expectations of others. After many years of managing these complexities since her early teens, managing a 'double life' and the difficulties this brings, meeting her cis-female wife gave her the support and confidence to fully embrace who she is.
Following Mia's early retirement from a senior role in a successful local business in 2025, Mia felt called to give back to the transgender community at this time of significant social and political change. She began volunteering with Body Positive and now works alongside Hugo, the Social Prescriber/Trans Link Worker at Body Positive, to support TransPositive groups across Cheshire. Mia helps support the monthly TransPositive Group at The Wellbeing Space, creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment where people can connect, share experiences, access information, and build community. The group explores issues affecting the trans community at local, national, and global levels while offering a space for mutual support and belonging. Known for her warmth, humour, and compassion, Mia is someone you can talk to, whether you need information, a listening ear, a friendly chat, a laugh, a hug, or simply a place where you can be yourself. |

Caroline Jones - Chit & Chat MaccCaroline runs Chit & Chat Macc monthly here at The Wellbeing Space. Caroline, returned to Macclesfield after a new perspective in life was brought to her, following 'Lockdown' Happy to return to the town where she went to high school before leaving for university and then work. Viewing this with a new awareness, Caroline looked for local community groups as a way to meet people and build connections. She found Cornershop Coffee Run Club, went along on her own, and now has a close group of people living in Macclesfield she calls friends.
From those connections, Run Talk Run Macclesfield was put together with two people she met through Cornershop Coffee, and it’s helped Caroline fall in love with Macclesfield all over again, and with the people she meets along the way. As well as loving connection, Caroline loves all things craft so had the idea to bring craft and community together by hosting monthly events here at The Wellbeing Space, where people can make and create things together and make friends. There are many various events taking place monthly at The Wellbeing Space such as candle painting, plant pot painting and mosaic crafts..... with much more to come.... Don’t worry if you feel you don't feel you are creative, everyone is there to support and it’s about being with people and having a nice chat. Chit & Chat in Macc will be a place where you can come as you are and leave feeling connected. |
